Conference Location
and Dates
The conference will be hosted by the Conservation
and Restoration Department and the Research Unit "Glass and Ceramics for
Art”,
at the Faculty of Science and Technology (FCT) of Universidade Nova de
Lisboa. The 15
ha University campus is located on the Tagus River bank across Lisbon
and about
3 km from the seaside beaches of Costa da Caparica.
We invite all who have any interest in glass
science, art or
conservation to participate in this stimulating event.
The conference dates, 19 - 20 September 2005, were
chosen
to be just one week after the SGT Annual Conference at University of
Sheffield. Many glass experts from
distant countries will be attending that meeting and we cordially
invite them
to make a stop in Lisbon before their return home. Two other meetings related
with this conference will take place in Marinha Grande in the following days,
Glass Art in Industry and Glass History.
